Walmart Greeter Disgusts Customer

and guess who that customer is.
Hi all. I'm back from Vacation 2011. More about that later. Right now I am just so grossed out over our Walmart Greeter. I had just finished paying for my purchases and was heading out the door when: BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! The store's security system kicks in. I look around hoping it was some other poor schmuck who's made-in-china-crap didn't deactivate but I was the only one standing in no man's land between the inner and outer doors. So I headed back inside and the obese, former retiree Walmart greeter marches over to see what I'm attempting to pilfer. Immediately after I hand him one of my bags his hand flies up to his face and he sneezes a big juicy one into it before returning it to the handle of my bag. He opens the bag, eyeballs the contents and determining by sight that this is not the bag that caused the alarm to sound, hands it back to me. I gingerly accepted the contaminated carrier and he held out his meaty paw for the next bag. I handed it over just as he let loose with another snot filled explosion. Using both hands he peered inside and said, "It's crazy what they put those things on." Determined that this bag of Slim Fast was the offender he carried it over to a check out, chatted amiably with some one he was aquainted with for a minute and then headed over to the customer service counter, sneezing for a third time on the way. He swung my bag over the scanner four or five times anouncing, "It doesn't want to deactivate." He continued to swing the bag over the scanner so I asked, "Couldn't you just walk me through the door?" He said, "I'll have to." He handed me my tainted tote and I left him eating my dust. Of course, everything I touched afterwards I was fouling; purse strap, keys, car door handles, steering wheel, door knob, etc. Needless to say, I scrubbed my hands for five minutes upon reaching home and Lysoled everything I may have come into contact with. I keep trying to tell myself it was only allergies and not the plague but I'm having a bit of trouble with the ick factor and I have an urge to go soak myself in a tub of bleach.

Yuck. A few years ago I was at a Stampede Breakfast where one of the people serving food had a bad cold.

Where am I? Too busy, too stressed to blog.

Sorry to hear your not feeling well, you may have got it from your shopping cart or even from the flight. There are zillion of germs being recycled on those Planes. Hope your soon feeling better, and that we see you soon.

How awful. I carry wipes in my car. This makes me feel dirty.

Ewwww. I have gotten really paranoid about things like that in my old age. I have really missed you, so glad you are back.

I feel like washing my hands after reading this. So sorry, Nitti, that you had to deal with this. It is just so rude. I like Teal's suggestion of the sanitary wipes. Wish you could have had on in your purse to hand the bozo. Maybe that would have awakened his manners from the fog of his probable allergies. I suggest you call the store and complain. Uggh.

Ugh, what an experience. Our supermarket (Publix) has a disifectant wipe dispenser in their entryway and customers are urged to use these to wipe the handles of their grocery carts. Wow. You could have a box of these in your car for the odd encounter.

I'm sure Walmart must have one too but I can't remember seeing one.
