Walking Pole Cozies (Free Pattern)

Walking Pole Cozies
to prevent sweaty palms during warm weather walks

MATERIALS: 1 50g/1.75 oz ball worsted weight wool will make quite a few
1 set of 4, 4.5mm/7 US double pointed needles
1 darning needle

TENSION: Not important

Make two

Cast on 16 stitches and divide on 3 DPNs.
Work in rib (k1, p1) for 6 rounds.
Work in stocking stitch for 16 rounds.
Work in rib for 6 rounds.

Thread darning needle with a 25cm/10 in piece of wool.
Weave wool around bottom of cozy to be tied tightly after cozy is slipped over your walking pole handgrip.
Don't tie a knot. You will want to remove and wash them occasionally.

I love the soft colors. By the way, I have 3 inches to go on my first sweater ever. You were my inspiration to get going, so thanks. I'll try to post a photo when it's completely done.

That's pretty ingenious of you. Who else would have thought of such a thing? It makes me think of how my hands use to sweat when riding a bike sometimes, but I never wanted to wear gloves, of course. These would work on handlebar grips, too. What a smart thinker you are.

Hmmmm - good idea - these could also be used on the end of floor brushes/mops etc.
