Canadian Flag Dishcloth (Free Pattern)

Canadian Flag Dishcloth



Materials: 1 red 50 g ball worsted weight cotton
1 white 50 g ball worsted weight cotton
1 pair size 4 mm needles
1 darning needle

Tension: Not important

Directions: Divide red ball into 3 balls. Divide white ball into 4 balls. Do not carry yarn over more than 2 sts.
With white cast on 41 sts.
Rows 1 - 5: K1, P1 to last st. K1. (Seed Stitch border)
Rows 6 – 35: Keep first 4 and last 4 stitches in each row in Seed Stitch.
Follow chart by reading all knit rows left to right and all purl rows right to left in Stocking Stitch.
Row 36: (K1, P1) 2 times. K8. (K1, P1) 8 times, K1. K8. (P1, K1) 2 times.
Rows 37 – 40: K1, P1 to last st. K1.
Cast off. Weave in loose ends with darning needle.

I really like this! I can see many uses, not just as a dishcloth. How cute underneath some glasses filled with an icy beverage. How cute as a little "doily" under a candy dish or some knick-knack-type thing. Little finger cloths or towels at a picnic or cookout, too. Yep, I like it!
