
Double soled for extra comfort and warmth.
MATERIALS: 100g/3.5 oz worsted weight yarn
1 pair 4mm/6 US needles
2 stitch markers
1 darning needle
Size: Small, (Medium, Large)
Length of sole - 18cm/7 in, (23cm/9 in, 26cm/10.25in) The slippers do stretch to fit a larger foot. My 25cm/10 in foot fits the medium sized slipper just fine.
TENSION: 18 sts & 25 rows with 4mm/6 US needles = 10 cm/4 inches
Outer Sole:
Cast on 66, (76, 86) stitches.
Knit 10, (12, 14) rows.
Cast off 66, (76,86) stitches.
Fold in half and sew cast on stitches together.
Make 2.
Foot:
Cast on 66, (76, 86) stitches.
Knit 10, (12, 14) rows.
Row 1: Knit to 3 sts before middle of row, k2tog, place marker, p2, place marker, k2tog tbl, knit to end of row.
Row 2: Purl to 2 sts before marker, p2tog tbl, slip marker, k2, slip marker, p2tog, purl to end of row.
Row 3: Knit to 2 sts before marker, k2tog, slip marker, p2, slip marker, k2tog tbl, knit to end of row.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until there are 32, (40, 48) stitches left on the needle.
Row 4: K2, p2 to end of row.
Repeat row 4 10, (10, 12) times.
Cast off loosely.
Make 2.
Finishing:
Fold slipper in half and sew back of slipper. Sew bottom of slipper. Put outer sole on bottom of slipper and sew in place.
