Jeri's Rex

Jeri (elderjane) sent me some of her dog, Rex's hair. It landed in my mailbox this afternoon and I just had to stop packing to try it out. I got a nice carded batt of the 15g/.55 oz of Rex's hair but it's too silky smooth to spin.

Unfortunately I'll have to card it again with some wool so I can spin it. I hope I don't dilute the colour. Rex's hair is a beautiful strawberry blonde and it feels like the soft, silky hair of a three year old child. I'm going to enjoy knitting with this.

Wow!! I didn't even know that you could spin animal hair like this... It has simply never occurred to me. Keep us updated on what this becomes!

We left for the East coast on the 3rd and came home on the 25th. Where are you?

I laughed when I saw this! It looks like my own hair, perhaps pulled from my hairbrush. However mine is not that wonderful baby-soft hair little kids have. Love to see what you make with it.

He's the nicest, sweetest dog, and I'm touched to see his hair laid out like that.
