Unhappy New Year

My new year is not starting out well. My computer is still being hospitalized and I hate this laptop. It was awkward and frustrating enough when the mouse was working but it's not any more and I have to slide my finger around on that rectangle. BTW, does anyone know if I can scroll without dragging the cursor over to the right side of the page? If so, please let me know.
I didn't get my daughter-in-law's birthday card or gift off to her in time so now she won't get them until next week and her birthday is on Friday.
Due to DD#2's in-laws I am now needed every Tuesday and Thursday to shofe.....choef.....chueff.....drive two of my grandsons home from their respective schools. That part's not so bad but it's supposed to snow this week. I don't drive in snow and DH will be out of town so he can't pick them up. I hate snow.
I don't like this new year. Wish I could fast forward to summer. I want to sit out on my deck and spin in the warm sunshine. Happy New Year? Bah, humbug!

Glad the arrow keys worked!
The last time my mom babysat, I paid her in homemade quiche, and
a dozen free range eggs bought from the next door neighbour.
She had no complaints (and asked for more eggs!)

Sorry to rain on you but these are happy problems -- none are fatal -- you have grand kids -- it won't snow forever. Feel free to slap me around for counting your blessings for you. Chauffeur.

So sorry things are off to such a bad start. Maybe the sun will come out tomorrow and the world will look better.

Kev, I hate to break it to ya but your wireless mouse runs on a battery that will die at the most inopportune time.

I can use the up & down arrows to scroll.

I hope DD appreciates your driving the kids.

She offered gas money but I must observe the unwritten law of Grandmothering by not accepting cash payments. I wonder if she knows I'll take beer and cookies in lieu of cash.

On a Mac you can use two fingertips on the touch-pad and scroll from anywhere on the window.

I let her know it's on it's way. Don't want her to think I forgot.

LOL- so many are suffering from winter doldrums. Just left a post saying basically the same. Hold down the right click-tab while scrolling.

You should be able to scroll down from the keyboard there.
Put your mouse on the arrow the right side.
And when you scroll used the left board to hit it.
You have two there not sure what they called it.
The left one is you hold it down and then do the scrolling.
Try it.You can do it.Cursor on the arrow and then hold the left side and scroll.
Let me know how you make out.

That's what I was doing. I was hoping there was something as easy as using the wheel on the mouse. No matter. DH has brought the mouse back to life.
