When DD#2 got married, nine and a half years ago, I bought a garden arch and 12m/13 yards of white tulle to decorate the arch with. The minister, DD#2 and hubby stood in front of the arch for the ceremony and it is in most of their wedding photos. The garden arch now stands at the entrance to our front yard covered in ivy and climbing roses.

The tulle, the net fabric used to make wedding veils and wedding decorations, has sat neatly folded amongst my sewing fabrics. For years I didn't know what to do with it. Every time I came across it I'd consider throwing it out but I'm too thrifty aka cheap to toss 12m of perfectly good fabric.

I cut it into four 3m sections and, as it was made of nylon, I was able to dye it with Kool Aid. I don't think my microwave will ever be rid of that fruity scent.

The tulle has been recycled into a fairy skirt for the soon to be six year old. She should like it as pinks and purples are her favourite colours.

No recycling here. Just a brand new cardi for the two year old.
I've got the flu. It appears to be the same one DH complained about for two weeks. I don't expect it to last that long though. I won't be going off to work every day. Just as soon as I've delivered the Sear catalogues and babysat the eight year old I'll be tucked up in my bed sleeping this illness away.
