Looks like Halloween is over for this year. The kids stopped coming before 7:00PM. We got 26 this year. That's only one more than last year. The fact that it was pouring rain didn't help but back to thank yous. Some kids say it and some don't. I was particularly annoyed with the approx. eight year old girl who just kept repeating, "I don't even like these." all the way down our sidewalk to the road while her mother kept repeating (in hopes of her daughter cluing in), "Thank you." Then, I heard a testy thank you from the girl as DH shut the door.
The six year old (Darth Vader) said thank you. The 31 year old (Daddy/Son-in-Law) said thank you. The 14 month old (Lion) said nothing. Maybe next year.

Your son in law is a cutie. The grandkids too, of course.
I gave extra candy to a boy who was dressed up as a ballerina. Brave kid or ???
The little ones are so cute. I really enjoyed this year's trick or treaters.
For a moment there, I was wondering how you got a picture of DS - he was Darth Vader too! Same mask, same light saber, different costume.
Cute picture of the kiddies in their costumes. Looks like Dad is having as much fun as they are, did he get a share of the candies?
One of my trick-or-treaters looked like he was on his way to the army recruiting station ... I think it's ridiculous when teens scavenge for candy.
Very good photos there.Thank you so much for posting this.
I always tried so hard to teach my children to say "Thank you." One is very good at it; one not so good.
'Manners' (or the lack of them), is a pet peeve of mine. I do, see it as very rude, when children and parents alike, cannot observe a simple 'please or, thank you'. (It is after all, a 'free' service). That little 'un looks soooo amused at his/her carrier
