What a Week

Monday I had planned to rest up for the busy week ahead but ended up doing laundry. How two adults and a cat can generate so much laundry is beyond my comprehension. By the time I had finished the light load, dark load, towel load, sheets load and woolens it was time for bed.

Tuesday I did a little spinning, a little knitting, a little cleaning and a little (very little) primping for dinner out with the weavers and spinners guild. It was supposed to be our Christmas dinner but at least one of the group had plans for every available day in December. I guess we'll be calling it our annual dinner from now on. I volunteered to have next month's meeting at my house.

Wednesday was the knitting group in my home. There were five of us knitting and chatting and sipping on tea. Very enjoyable.

Thursday I went spinning at the Thursday Spinners group with a couple of friends. It's an all day affair. I'm picked up at 9:00AM and bought back home any time between 3:00 and 4:00PM. It's such fun time passes quickly there. Although, my back is paying dearly for sitting and spinning for so long.

Today was more laundry and a doctor's appointment for prescription renewals. I only got to knit for 50 minutes in the waiting room today. I've thought about taking my spinning wheel next time but his waiting room is too small.;o)

Tomorrow I will be checking out a new knitting group that is meeting every other Saturday in the local library. Just checking out the competition, so to speak.

Sunday DH and I will be attending the Centennial Celebrations for Alberni. Port Alberni and Alberni amalgamated in 1967 to become the City of Port Alberni. We'll need to bundle up but it's not supposed to rain.

Next Monday I need to have my granddaughter come over so I can measure her feet for the slippers she wants me to knit for her. While she's here we will have hot chocolate with marshmallows and muffins with peanut butter and strawberry jam.

Next Tuesday I have no plans but I expect the laundry will need doing again.

Well enough to do laundry.....unfortunately.

I'm wearing the scarf you sent me nearly every day. It's even warm enough for the -20c days! And EVERYONE asks me about it. And I see them EVERYWHERE too! They are apparently the big fashion statement of winter 2012-2013. I had a "what a week" too. I inherited two hermit crabs from DD (DH was going to give them back to the store! No way I said!), and I had 5 appointments in 3 days! *CHOKE* And I need to make 2 more for this week.

Is that a knitted rug in front of the fireplace? Please tell Angel and your DH hello from us here.

DH says hi back. Angel ignored me. The rug is hooked. I had some leftover yarn and the colours were perfect for the rec room.

The laundry room in my apartment building is being rewired, so no ready access to washers and dryers at the moment. Things that can't be hand-washed are piling up in baskets. The cats think I'm making them new comfy snuggle places.

When you can do laundry again, will you have the heart to demolish those comfy cat beds?

Just taking time off from the laundry, and thinking how lucky we are to have a machine to throw it in.My poor Mom used to scrub it on a wooden table, and hope it wouldn't rain before she got the laundry dry. Yesterday I went for my flu shot--finally.Good to hear your energy is back, and you getting to some interesting Craft meetings.

Before I learned to drive, in Salmon Arm, my washing machine broke down so I filled the bathtub and stirred the laundry with a broom handle.
I feel back to normal except for the allergies.

Good grief! I got tired just reading it and it's not even noon yet.

Was your NY's resolution to become active in more craft groups? I spent yesterday with a friend scrapbooking for seven hours. We both set up on her large dining table and didn't want to stop. I'm still working on my photos from the trip to Asian and she is working on photos from a trip to Japan. Neither of us had done any scrapbooking since we went to a three day retreat last February and we needed to get something accomplished before we go to this year's retreat. I've been reorganizing my office/craftroom so I can work on my projects more regularly.

I see nothing wrong with working at your craft for seven hours.
Oh how I wish I had your organizing skills.

I know what you mean about the cat and the laundry. Try three cats and didn't I just DO the laundry?? Lots of knitting and spinning but you love it -- way to go.

I just need to teach Angel to put her toys away. Yes, I do it.

What a schedule!! That is the trouble with house work...it comes due at
least once a week.
comment by elderjane on Jan 19, 2013 5:29 AM ()
Another advantage of having the knitting group meet at my house. I am obligated to dust and vacuum.
