The longer you stay at a place the more you find that's wrong with it. The bed was awful. We would have been more comfortable sleeping on the pine floor and it probably would have been a lot quieter too. You couldn't blink without setting off a series of creaking and groaning. The glider was unusable. When you sat down there was a pronounced list to the left and it squealed like a stuck pig with every glide.
After DH's zero pressure shower and breakfast of instant oatmeal and tea (the coffee pot has never been cleaned) we drove around looking at the island homes. The varieties ranged from dilapidated shacks to waterfront mansions. We eventually found Sunset Farm on the Studio Tour, although the numbers did not match the map we had been given by the Salt Springs Spa Resort's receptionist. Turns out it was 2009's map.

Sunset Farm's sheep.

Sunset Farm's sheep. Lots of sheep. So where's the wool?
Instead of the anticipated skeins of wool and bags of fleece I was disappointed to see a small corner of the shop with some pricey wool and tiny, expensive bags of roving. The rest of the little shop held even pricier "antiques".
We stopped at the only town on the island, Ganges, and bought a few groceries for lunch and tomorrow's breakfast. Then we went back to our "chalet" for lunch. There was no hand soap at either the kitchen nor the bathroom sinks and we had to use the body wash from a dispenser in the shower stall. No shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion, shower cap, mending or shoe shine kits like most accommodations provide.
After lunch we went looking for more wool and did some window shopping in Ganges. The second of only two wool shops on the island was closed for the season but I did find a nice Xmas gift for a sister. The shops closed up tight at 5:00PM but it was too early for dinner so we retired to our "chalet", with the single ply toilet paper, to read, knit and generally relax.
At 7:30PM we set off for the Salt Spring Inn where we planned to dine. The place was rockin' and although we didn't arrive until 7:50PM we still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. After feasting on ribs, garlic mashed potatoes, a tasty assortment of veggies and a beer for DH and a Kahlua Bailey's Frappe for moi we understood why the place was so popular. We had no room for dessert so we headed back to our "chalet" where the jetted tub was waiting for our last pummelling soak.
DH folded the comforter into thirds and laid it on my side of the bed. What a doll! Maybe with that, a melatonin and two AC&Cs I'll get a decent sleep tonight.
