I woke early due to the discomfort of the bed. Tried to quietly make instant coffee but DH was already awake. We ate breakfast, dressed and checked out of the Salt Springs Spa Resort, never to return. Before leaving I did fill out the little survey questionnaire on how much we did not enjoy our stay and made a detailed list of improvements they should consider implementing. We made a bee line for the "West of the Moon" toy store where we had a blast spending $165.00 on Xmas and birthday gifts for the grandkiddies.

Then we were off to Salt Spring Cheese where we taste tested a sampling of their yummy goods.

A pretty corner outside.

Think goat cheese.

I don't remember seeing any black cheeses.
After stuffing ourselves with cheeses we headed for the Salt Spring Bread co. and picked up a loaf of cheese bread, onion bread, rosemary bread and pumpkin seed bread.
I hope they don't get too stale before we can eat all of them.

All the bread is baked in this wood fired brick oven.

We stopped at Ruckle Park and walked off some of those cheesy calories and then headed for the ferry terminal at Fulford Harbour.
We had an hour's wait for the next ferry to Victoria so I scammpered off to check out the hippy shop full of incense, tie died clothing and jewelry for every part of your body.

I only bought a pair of peacock feather earrings but Iwanted to buy out the entire store and YES, I am just an old hippy at heart.
We arrived in Victoria at rush hour but managed to find a nice motor inn in Sidney and checked into a suite.

Livingroom.
Kitchen.

Bedroom with two queen sized beds. DH took one and I took the other. It was sheer heaven sprawled out on our own big, comfortable beds after the last two nights. DH flaked out for a nap after bringing in the luggage and I sat in the livingroom and knit until he woke up at 7:30. We walked over to a restaurant, behind the inn, where I had a burger, salad and cider and DH had cedar plank salmon with veggies and a beer. We made the mistake of ordering the hazelnut chocolate cheesecake for dessert, couldn't finish it and ended up taking doggy bags back to the inn. I had eaten far too much, far too late and ended up with a headache and heartburn.

We visited Ruckle park, didn't make it down to Fulford.
I have peacock feather earrings - my grandmother bought them on one of her trips to ... somewhere? Vegas maybe. but mine have beads on the bottom. Not everyday earrings, but they are cool.
