Compared to what we slept on on Saltspring Island these beds were sheer heaven. DH went downstairs to tell them we would like to stay for another two days but they were booked solid for the next two nights so we packed up and shipped out. Two blocks away we found a Bed & Breakfast, Beacon Inn at Sidney, that looked lovely.

It's a big, 100 year old house with nine, beautifully decorated guest rooms. We checked in and then spent the day driving around, taking in the sights.

Sidney Pier.

I thought this one was cute with the playful kitties.

We even stopped at a cidery for a tasting. I didn't drink much. I don't care for cider and didn't like most of what they offered.

DH bought a bottle before we left.
We drove to a park we located on a map but it turned out to be just a grassy field so we ate our lunch in a nearby parking lot. My mouth had been watering for the cheese bread we'd bought yesterday but it turned out to be garlic bread instead. The loaf was riddled with chunks of garlic cloves throughout. DH and I won't have to worry about vampires (or anyone else) getting too close for the next week or so.
We dined at a Greek/Italian restaurant but I wasn't hungry so I just had a salad and although DH ordered dessert I didn't see anything on the menue I fancied. We retired to our room for the evening and I soon began to feel utterly exhausted. After going to bed I developed a massive headache and realized my skin felt prickly and I was hot with fever. Apparently the headaches, backaches and queezy stomach DH suffered from at the beginning of our vacation was not the result of tension and stress but the flu which he had generously shared with me.
