Sun Sept 19/10

I felt better by morning. The bed was comfy but the room was very warm. There was no need for the down comforter or even the sheet for that matter and we kept the window wide open all night. I thought I'd cool off in the lounge before breakfast but they had the gas fireplace on in there. I keep glancing around for lizards and tropical birds. Breakfast was lovely; French toast with peaches and maple syrup with an assortment of fresh fruit and yogurt on the side. I feel like I've gained ten pounds. Salads for the next two weeks.

BC Wildlife Exhibit. No flash allowed.

Very old totem poles. Photo taken from the third floor looking down into the entrance. You can just see the Provincial Parliament Building with it's green roof in the upper left corner.
Pouring rain so we decided to spend it indoors at the BC Provincial Museum and Imax Theatre. I don't generally enjoy museums (DH has dragged me through far too many of them) but I could spend all day on the third floor looking at the dresses from the 1800s on up and the turn of the century town. Unfortunately, no photos are allowed in that area. We saw a film about surfing in Tahiti at the Imax. The subject didn't interest me but the scenery was spectacular and it gave me a headache watching the football field sized screen.
At dinner I was again feeling unwell and ate little. Back in our room, DH and I each had a soak in the jetted tub but by 10:30 all my flu symptoms had returned so I went to bed.

Great pix. Wish I could visit that area. Hope you are totally over your illness by now.

Not yet but I'm working on it; lots of tea, aspirin, sleeping pills.

I see the otter in that display. We get river otters around here, but don't like them because they eat too many fish. The people here today fishing saw the mink, which I haven't seen this year, so I'm glad to hear he's still around. They eat fish, too, but also find food on land so aren't as bad for the fishing.

I see a raccoon and the butt end of a bear, both of which have been frequenting my back lane. I haven't actually seen the bear but the dogs next door go nuts and the next morning there's another mountain of bear poop to dodge.
