Teal Socks

My beautiful, new teal socks are done. They are my first pair of toe-up socks. I can't wait to wear them. Do you think anyone will notice the major mistake I made. What do you mean you can't see a mistake. It's massive. It leaps off the monitor and slaps me in the face. I can't believe I did that.

Come on people. Tell me. Where did I go wrong?

AHEM! Nothing dainty about my feet, I'm a solid size 10.

I am too but when I was your age I was a 9.5. Ah the good ol' days.

I think you need to send the yarn company a 'Yo! Patons! Looka my sox!' email with the photo attached.

Excellent idea! See next article.

wow, those look great. Can't see any mistakes at all. I like the strips to be mix-matched.

Thanks but the more I look at them the more dissatisfied I am. They're not even the same colours.

Is it the camera, or is that two different yarns? Really not very noticeable right off the bat. But they aren't that different, so I don't know how it happened. Your technique is beautiful. I haven't graduated to doing socks yet, still trying to get a sweater that I like everything about.

I don't know how that thumbs up smiley got in there.

It's not the camera. In spite of the ball bands claiming to be the same dye lot it's quite obvious they're not. I think Patons should be looking at their quality control. Also, I started knitting from the centre of one ball and the outside of the other as the coloured stripes are reversed.

They are beautiful - erros and all. I have been on a big binge of crocheting hats. I made quite a few - gave some away and I am wearing some. Need some more wool yard - we don't use very much wool here, but it does well in hats.

Wool hats are the warmest.

By looking at these one would think I didn't either.

I don't have much experience with socks.

If you don't like them I'll take them.

They wouldn't fit your dainty little feet. I take a shoe size 9.5-10.

You worry too much.

I'm just glad I wasn't knitting these for a paying customer.

Sock it to me!! whats the mistake? surely it's not the unmatched stripes, that is a fashion trend. These days I am knitting a vest with your brown velveteen and rust coloured yarn.

Fashion trend. Yes, that's it. It's a fashion trend.

'Turn then into something good' or, T.T.I.S.G. for short. I often do that concerning all manner of things (my 'cooking' usually) . . .
Knit two more exactly the same or wear short ankle boots. My DH often matches up a pair by choosing two which haven't got any holes in them . . .

You have done a great job on them though Marg

None of my hand knit wool socks have any holes in them. Having said that, I'm sure they'll start appearing any day now.

Two left socks, so only an amputee can wear them?
