I spin for five hours every Sunday at the Craft Market. Yesterday a friend came over and we spun for two hours. After she left I spun for another hour and a half. Today another friend took me to the Thursday Spinners Group at the Bradley Centre in Coombs and we spent about four hours spinning. Well, I kept my nose to the wheel and spent four hours spinning while my friend was a social butterfly. The bursitis in my hip is complaining and now I have shin splints. Who would have thought a bit of spinning could give you shin splints!
Undyed Corriedale. I did have three but one of them sold almost immediately.
I bought this Romney already dyed. It won't be going on my craft market table. I will knit it up as a sweater for me.
This is the sweater I would like to knit with the green Romney.
I need to spin up a lot more Romney for this sweater. So, someone please tell me. How does one get rid of shin splints?

Rest, no pain relievers. They delay healing. At least you got lots of spinning done!
Maybe you should have been a social butterfly too!!
The beautiful colors of the Romne are something to drool over, the spinning is A1 too, it will make a lovely sweater.
love the yarn - you must post a photo of the sweater when it's done. Shin splints used to be discussed all the time in ballet class - I still don't know what they are. I will look into this just out of curiosity.
Geez... first thing I saw was two loaves of dough. Guess that's where my head is...
Go to webmd.com, put shin splints into the search box. It'll tell you what they are (to make sure that is in fact what you have) and how to treat it.
never heard of shin splints , shin pads yes but they are for protection last time a saw a spinning wheel in use was at a vintage museum , it was a very quiet day no one else around and i went into a slab hut , not expecting any one else around i had a bad fright when i saw a lady in period dress was spinning away , thought i saw a ghost
Sounds like good exercise??? hope they didn't last too long...
That was more than a little bit of spinning, it was a marathon. Try taking one of the pain relievers like aspirin or ibuprofen and rest from spinning. There's more you can do if it doesn't get better - google it. That green and blue yarn is beautiful.
