Nanaimo Visit

DH and I braved the gale force winds and torrential downpour getting to Nanaimo for a visit with Mom. She made us a delicious lunch and I guzzled her coffee as I hadn't had time for any before leaving home (thanks to sleeping in due to the time change). Unfortunately, nursekim had to work so we didn't get to see her. BTW, Kim, your Doggy Bag is done. I'm just waiting for it to dry and then I can mail it to you. The dog hair part is so soft and fuzzy I've been trying not to pet it. After lunch we went to The Bay at Woodgrove Mall and Mom told me to pick out something for my birthday present. There were lots of nice tops but I LOVE this Kaftan style.

Mom said I'm not allowed to wear it until my birthday so I'll wear it when DH takes me out for my Chinese Birthday Dinner.
It was getting late so we dropped Mom off at her house and headed back to Port Alberni through the wind and the rain.

Love the colours in your new top - nice choice! And I'm really looking forward to seeing the Shawny memorial bag. Thank you!

I mailed it Thursday afternoon so you might get it tomorrow. Let me know when it arrives so I can post some photos of it. I'm thinking that even though I knit with two ply, maybe I should have lined it. Let me know what you think.

Lovely! I hate to drive in the wind and rain, though.

Me too. That's why DH does the driving.

The camera always adds 50 lbs to me but I'm looking forward to my 60th.

There's nothing like a good visit over coffee with your mother, sounds like a lovely day, and that's a beautiful top.

Good to hear you and DH got home safely in spite of the intreped weather. I am sure you will look "Smashing" in your new out-fit when you go for your Chinese Birthday dinner.I wonderi if they still use that expression in England? or has it been replaced with "Brilliant"? Thanks to DH for changing the time on my out-of-reach wall clock, and for having so much patience while we chewed the fat.

We still use "smashing" and the new word for something amazing is "champion" eg: "you look champion" or "that roast beef was champion". we have some strange sayings lol

When we start to talk about knitting and spinning you can actually see his eyes glaze over.
