Well Done Angel
No, I did not roast her in the oven for my dinner. I am expressing my approval on a little job I didn't think she would or could perform. Last night I brought the paper in late. It was already dark and had cooled off considerably. As I sat down on the couch and opened the newspaper on the coffee table I caught some movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked down and there on the floor between my feet was one humongous house fly. It had fallen off the newspaper and I assumed it was dead. I nudged it with my toe and the darn thing took off, zipping around the house like a radio controlled plane being operated by a drunken four year old. Apparently it had just been hibernating due to the cold outside. It dive bombed me several times and as Angel was curled up on the back of the couch I thought maybe if I pretended I was trying to catch it, she might join in on my game. At the first buzz Angel had immediately woken with a spine snapping head jerk. Her eyes were like saucers as they followed the intruder around the room and when the fly decided to investigate the rest of the house Angel finally got up off her belly and followed it down the hall. Within seconds the fly returned with the cat waddling along behind. She made a few half hearted attempts to snag it with her claws and missed every time. Little did I know she was just making the fly over confident so she could carry out her plan of extermination later in the night. When I awoke this morning there was no sign of the fly......literally; no broken little legs, no battered body and no chewed up wings. I'll bet he made a nice midnight snack. So, thank you Angel for getting rid of that huge, disgusting, filthy fly. Well done Angel!
