Today Was My Birthday

Plus Side
I didn't have to make any meals.
I get the bed to myself tonight.
Youngest daughter spent her lunch hour with me and brought my granddaughter, a cake and a present.
I opened the card I got from my mom last week.
Son called from Nova Scotia and we talked for an hour.
I went on a spending spree and bought a vintage knitting pattern on Etsy for $1.55.
I spent most of the day knitting the sleeves to a sweater I started a year ago.
DH called to wish me a happy birthday and say good night.

Minus Side
I was lonely and miss my eldest daughter who I haven't seen since Christmas Eve.
I had to tidy up in case anyone came over.
DH is working out of town.
I turned 62.

I forgot your birthday is the same day as my mother's. I realized it last year, for a brief moment, and then forgot. The thing about being in our 60s is that when we die, a lot of people (even 30 year olds) will say 'that's too young.' Just wait until we're 70 and 80 something - no matter how hale and hearty we are when some drunken texting 16 year old mows us down, strangers are going to say 'she lived a full life.'

Hmmm... Donna would probably rate having the bed to herself as a plus too if she didn't appreciate the massive amount of heat I produce.

Sixty-two doesn't sound that bad especially when compared to other possibilities that others experience at our age, so enjoy while you can! I posted the chipmunks on your wall, but everybody on fb is probably getting tired of seeing it by now!

Another Aries. My life is full of Aries, Leo and Aquarians. We had a
birthday breakfast for 4 of us who had March birthdays.
