Chiengora and Wool
As I now have confirmation that Islander has received her birthday present I can show you what it is.

A Doggy Bag.

I knit it with Islander's dog's hair (chiengora) mixed with wool. The dog hair is the buttery coloured yarn and the wool is the grey/brown coloured yarn. I decorated it with a brass button and little brass beads on the tails. I knit two rows of what are supposed to be hearts with the wool. Top row right side up and bottom row upside down. I can see her wearing it, in my mind's eye. It looks great on her.
More wool:

I have a little tea pot I bought on sale for $10.00 at a craft fair. The first time I tried to use it I discovered why it was on sale. My large sized, fully enclosing tea cozies held the heat in so well the handle and spout got too hot to touch. Also, the little lid fell off every time I tipped the pot. This new tea cozy exposes the handle and spout and as it doesn't need to be removed to pour the tea, the lid is held firmly in place.
Chrysantemmumm Shawl Update:
I'm now working on the border. There are 96 pickets around the circumference of the shawl and at 4 pickets an hour I should be done in just under a week.
