Toques

The local Craft Market has started up again and the first Sunday a fellow approach me to ask if I had any rain hats. Not quite understanding what meant I hesitated. He tried to explain by adding, "You know, a wool hat. A toque that will keep the rain off me." I told him I had left all my toques at home as I didn't think anyone would be looking for a wool hat in 32C/90F degree weather. He practically demanded that I bring them next time. I knew I didn't have any man sized wool toques so I sat down and knit three for his perusal.

Would you like to know which one he chose last Sunday?
None because he never came back.
Oh well, my hats sell like hot cakes on Etsy.
I've only sold a total of three items at the Craft Market but, already, half my fees are paid for. I think this might be a good year at the market.

Whereas the first Sunday was unbearably hot the second was pouring rain, cool and so windy I thought my stall would blow away, like Dorothy's house. Next Sunday I'm hoping for weather that is somewhere in between.

I really like that bulky one with the blue. You're such a fast knitter and I'll bet you never make a mistake.

Only wore them in New York City winters and rarely because I could never take them off once inside and look coiffed. They mashed my hair down too much. But I always liked the look of them on other people. So my ears stayed warm because I'd turn my collar up and wrap a huge scarf around.

I knit them for those men who shave their heads. Their poor noggins must get chilly.

Wool itches me to death but the hats are very nice. Wouldn't you know that
he would be a no show. Just added a cat to my collection. Black with sun
flowers painted on it.

Love the fish one, but like John wool makes me itch like crazy. Darn it all anyway....
Here in Northwest Ohio, spring can't seem to make up its mind. The last two days were in the 40sF and below freezing at night. Tomorrow it will be 80F. All depends on the wind direction. Lake Erie is still very cold, and winds our of the east cool things down in nothing flat.

I can't imagine buying one of those this time of year either. Of course, I don't wear them, make my head itch too much. Good luck at the market.
