What Have I Been up To?

I've been up to this:

A little, off white, cotton, summer purse that will go with anything I wear.  Just big enough for my wallet, keys, cell phone, pack of kleenex, gum, chap stick......Oh golly, maybe I should have made it bigger.
and I've been up to this:

Two more "Green" grocery bags.  Number four is on the needles.  I need to make a total of, at least, seven of these bags to pack home the groceries from my weekly shopping trip.  I wonder how many I can make before I get thoroughly sick of them.

My grandmother used to use a rug yarn...maybe it wasn't specifically that but it sure did have a tightness to it, and the afghans she made (yeah, they were heavy in weight) were like the most durable things I've ever known. She knit rather tightly and those things held their shape like you wouldn't believe. Would something like this or maybe a synthetic yarn with nylon in it or something work? Remember, I can't knit worth a pearl (yeah, purl, I'm just "punning"), but I can see these bags being useful in a ton of ways. Fold them small, tote along, pull them out and fill when needed.

Your goods are looking good! A question for you...do the bags really hold up? Oh, I know the bags will, that's not what I mean...sorry. I mean, when the weight of the groceries are in the bag, does the bag stretch more than it holds it's shape...darn, I can't get the question out right! The handle, as the weight of the bag pulls on it. Maybe you know what I'm trying to ask. I'm just trying to compare your bags to the commercially made nylon-ish ones and am wondering about the "maintaining shape, sagging something-or-other" comparisons. I just can't find the right words.

Nice blanket. I'm not brave enough to do something that big yet. The Poncho turned out awful. Looks like I might be better at crochet.
