I had a lovely surprise this afternoon when I answered the door and found my 19 year old nephew and a friend of his standing there. (Actually, this is a perfect example of a brain hiccup I suffer from. Although I had just seen my nephew two weeks ago at my mom's place, I did not recognise him today, until he told me who he was. Seeing him somewhere different from where I usually see him, I could not recognize him.) Anyway, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces and is taking all sorts of killing and war courses and had a few stories to tell. I am proud of him just not for joining the Armed Forces. He's my baby sister's only child. It was wonderful to see him and I was so glad he had stopped by to visit.
This morning I found the neighbours to be rather amusing. The lady on the corner was hollering at another neighbour. Not sure if it was the guy next door to her or the fellow next door to us but she asked if he'd heard about her husband's accident. He said no he hadn't and with much concern asked what had happened.  The lady tells him that her hubby had been out washing the railings the previous evening and when he was done he dumped the bucket of dirty water down the toilet. *As you can imagine, at this point I was all ears wondering how her husband could have had an accident with a toilet.* Then she says he forgot the scrub brush was still in the bucket and spent the night dismantling the toilet to retrieve his brush. The neighbour told her that her husband had told him about having to dismantle the toilet but he hadn't explained why. Fortunately the neighbours guffaws drowned out my chuckles. It wasn't exactly an accident, more of an act of stupidity. I just hope they have a second toilet.    Â
