Sunday Craft Market
Sunday Craft Market
I did a lot better on Sunday. As a matter of fact I did so well, it almost made up for the two Sundays that were a bust. I didn't take my spinning wheel as I'm trying to finish knitting a shawl I would like to wear to my nephew's wedding next month. I can't believe he's getting married. I'm sure it was just last week I was changing his diaper.
I took my mannequin head and displayed a lovely headband, neckwarmer and fingerless mitts set. It didn't sell but I did get a lot of compliments on it. When it's just flat on the table no one even notices it.
I also took my six month size baby doll and dressed her in a cute bonnet, jacket, panties and booties. In spite of setting out a "Doll Not Included" sign numerous little girls and one little boy asked if the doll was for sale.
I'm asking $20.00 for the Cradle Purse. I put it front and centre in hopes some spoiled little girl would be taking it home but in spite of it being mauled and man...er...I mean girl handled, there were no parents nor grandparents feeling generous enough buy it.

As five to six hours of knitting can become a bit tedious, (Yes, even for me.) I found myself people watching. I saw far too many women of all ages in waaay too tight tops. I also saw some beautifully dressed ladies. I saw lots of pooches being walked and recognized quite a few of them as Sunday regulars. I gazed longingly at the numerous ice cream cones being carried past and prayed they wouldn't stop at my booth to drip their frosty deliciousness on my wares. I glared at anyone with a lit cigarette. Fortunately there aren't many that ignorant. I watched a new mother and father, handing off their newborn to each other to give each a chance to eat their lunch, with fond memories.
Yes, Sunday was a good day.
