How to Post Pictures on MyBloggers

Before you can post pictures to your blog you must have the pictures stored in your computer.

Step 1: Click on the blue square to the right of the body box where you compose your article. It has a green disk with a white plus sign in it.

Step 2: The Image Location box will appear. Click on Browse. Find your pictures in the file location box that appears. Double click on the picture you want and click on Upload Image in the Image Location box.

Step 3: Wait for it....wait for it....wait for it...

Step 4: When your picture appears scroll down below picture and click on Select Code. Code will be highlighted in blue. Copy and paste highlighted code to the Body box. Click on Finished.

Please Note: When you post your article to your blog the highlighted code miraculously becomes the picture.

I can do all this, but after the long wait, I still get the message of "too big", even though it says pictures will be automatically resized to fit. Iiiiiieeeee!

When you know which picture you are going to upload, go to it first, and edit it to a smaller size with the program it is in. Then when you click on browse, find the one you fixed. Good luck.

I have a program on my camera that's called 'Resize' but I prefer the one that came with my computer called 'PhotoImpression 5'. See if there's a free program, out there on the www, you can download to your computer.

Resave the pic under a new filename, but make it no wider than 500 pixels, and always change the DPI to 72. Your camera probably shoots it at 230 DPI. My daDDy aksed me to aks yew if yew wud like sum more chili.

Easy Share software is the best for resizing. It has a feature on the save menu "best for web". Unfortunately, I think the software came with my camera, so you might not be able to download it.

Paint on Windows? Export File? What do you think I am? A tech? If you want, I can tell you how to copy and paste.
Didn't I see some hand painted mohair in one of your photos?

If you ever have the file size problem, now you know who to ask if it comes up. .bmp files tend to be larger than .jpg

Yes, it's that blue/green/red handpaint from Brown Sheep Yarn. I have little mohairs all over the house.

Sometimes, unaccountably, the Wait for it... never ends, it just cranks and cranks. And you didn't mention how to use Paint (on Windows) or Export File (on Mac) to re-size the picture files if they are over 1000 mb. Some folks struggle with that.

I'm trying to finish a mohair hand-paint sweater I started this spring, forgot the stitch pattern, after many false starts finally figured it out. Whew!
