I purchased a beautiful ceramic yarn bowl from my local yarn shop for $45.00......

and promptly broke it. So I set out to find an unbreakable yarn bowl for Frau Klutz. While perusing Etsy, one day, I discovered a Canadian woodworker in Manitoba by the name of BowlWorx. I really liked the size and shape of his yarn bowls so I asked him if he could make me a bowl but not finish it so I could stain and paint it myself.

He offered me this one for $55.00 and I took it.

I used the same stain, flowers and vines I used on Grunhilda so they match each other.

Just in case you've forgotten what Grunhilda looks like.

I bought a ceramic yarn bowl at the Christmas craft fair last year. Then a few months ago I was using it and when I pulled the yarn, the bowl fell on the floor and broke in half. Bummer.

Yarn bowls are supposed to be on the floor. If you'd like a wooden one I can send you a link to the guy in Manitoba.

Love it! Never saw one before.

It's a luxury item. I have also used small, plastic garbage cans and a deep, wide flower vase. I have seen people use tea pots and coffee carafes as well.

I have a ceramic bowl that looks just like the one you broke (sorry). Bought it at the same price even! Nice photos.

The bottom of the J snapped off. I expect I will get some Crazy Glue and fix it someday.

It is pretty. You are getting very artistic with the painting.

That's beautiful! I've never seen a yarn bowl, now you've got me thinking!

It keeps my ball of yarn from rolling all over the floor/ground. It keeps it safe from kitty cats. It's pretty. Aw heck! I just wanted one.
