I did something I haven't done in a very long time. It's something I promised myself I wouldn't ever do again. I'm not sure how it happened but I found myself cruising through eBay. I don't even remember what I was looking for but this is what I found:
942g, that's almost 2 lbs of Scalamandre 100% silk yarn.
So, I bought it. The price was right and it's a pale sage colour that I can overdye (redye it a different colour) if I choose to. It's very fine yarn. Unless I want to knit a wedding ring shawl I will need to ply a few strands together.
My biggest fear is that it will tangle when I try to wind it into balls for plying. So I'm trying not to handle it too much. Oh, the beautiful things I can make with this.

That is beautiful stuff. I would not even consider dyeing it.
I thought of you yesterday when I was contemplating my plastic tote and one large bag of yarn: "Marg would have gone through this in about a week," is what I was thinking.
Is eBay still around?
As long as the stuff doesn't end up at the bottom of a closet you really aren't that bad. To put it another way, you only knit once, so enjoy!
