Intimate Details of My Colonoscopy

You have got to be kidding! Do you honestly think I want to relive the horrors of those awful two days? Suffice to say, the good news is the doctor found nothing of interest. The bad news is I have to do it all over again every two to three years.

Notes for 2016:

1) Take prescription meds on both days to avoid lecture #11 from the anesthesiologist.

2) Wear adult disposable underwear for prep day and procedure day to save on laundry.

3) Buy some clear broth and drink juice. The coffee and water got boring real fast.

4) On prep day keep busy; spin, knit, call a friend (on the cordless or cell just in case).

Sorry to disappoint you all. No pictures.

We did not go through all of this as for us is every ten years.If the find some polyps then every five years.I did not mind the prep in more so than waiting for this.No polyps find for me.
Pretty good for a man of my age.Every three years is a bit much unless the suspect something.Like divertickolis that i not spelled right.You should able to make it out.

Congrats on the good report. When we did it, we drank a lot of warm Jello (but not red or orange).

I mixed a packet of Purgodan (powder) with a half a cup of water. It was the 1 to 2 cups of clear fluids per hour that wore me down.

Her prep sounds easy compared to the ones we do in Florida. You have to drink a gallon of gatorade. I cheat. I asked the nurse if I could lessen the amount since I am not a very large person and she stuck to the book. So I cheated and it was fine. They are really clueless sometimes. Gatorade is so acidic that the only thing that got me through was sucking on honey drops between glasses. You do it over the course of a few hours but it is gag time.
