Fredo Started It.

Our West Coast Native Art Collection:

I had to take the photos at an angle to prevent glare from the camera's flash.

Two Sue Coleman prints flanking Raven with the Sun.

This picture was given to me by a friend 36 years ago. DH had it reframed for one of my birthdays.

Tyee Moom by Roy Henry Vickers. We have a more of his art work but the rest of them adorne the walls of DH's office, in town.

Thunderbird; painted, etched aluminum.

Thunderbird and Whale; etched aluminum.

Totem Poles painted on burlap.

Man-Del-La was a Christmas gift from DS and family.

Dream Catchers on our bedroom wall.

Totem Pole wall carving.

Carved, wooden Thunderbird. This massive piece takes up a third of the length of our diningroom wall.

This whale was carved by the father of two of my day care kids. Their three year old son helped with the staining.

Another Whale.

Yet another Whale.

A colourful Loon.

A Medicine Man.

Great pictures. The etched aluminum whale/thunderbird is amazing!

I love the art, especially the child and the loon but all are gorgeous. I have some Native American art and my husband has a Native American heritage.

Gee, I love them all! Isn't that little child the cutest little thing? And that painted etched aluminum thunderbird is stunning. What a fine collection you have!

Those are awesome! They remind me of Juneau, where I grew up.

Amazingly gorgeous! I was looking for the suncatchers! I'm glad that Fredo posted his Kachinas, which encouraged you to post these! Quite a collection!!!

Nice pictures, Marg. And the one your DH had reframed for you made me smile. I just wanna hug that child.

I *love* the raven with the sun, Thunderbird and Whale (I have earrings with almost the same image), wooden Thunderbird and the loon. I have native art tiles in my bathroom. Most were bought in Tofino, but a few years later, they showed up in Calgary stores too.

Great collection of Indian art and marine art. As I told Fredo, the only thing I collect is dust!

Really beautiful. I'll have to do this with some of mine. I have several that I've collected over the years. Mostly oils, but I recently added a gorgeous eagle water color for my husband.

Those are cool! When I went home for the weekend to see my family...the small town I grew up in was having their 3rd annual "Chalk the Walk" affair. Have you ever heard of such an event? A large box area is marked off in the middle of the main street, divided into squares. You sign up to "chalk" one of the boxes. When it is all said and done, it will be a tapestry of chalk boxes, creating a famous painting. This year it was "The Big Bluff" - more commonly known as the Dogs playing poker. So awesome to see. And not an easy thing to do the chalking - according to my sister who did one of the boxes. There were also other areas around the street of individual chalk drawings. I took a few pics of them....maybe I'll get around to writing a post about it and adding the pics to it.
