Fibre Garage Sale
Fibre Garage Sale
On Saturday morning a friend picked me up and we drove to a church in Nanaimo where this fibre garage sale was being held. Vendors were hawking used spinning wheels, weaving loom parts, left over cone yarn, knitting yarn and pattern books. Some were selling beautiful, hand made, wooden buttons and spinning tools. One vendor had little, felted animals on display. Quite a few had brought their hand dyed rovings and bags (large, clear, plastic, garbage bags) and bags full of sheep's wool, mohair, lama and alpaca fleeces. The place was jumpin'. It was crowded. It was noisy. It was exciting. My mom was there and we were able to have a chat before we all left for home. My friend had to be at work at 1:00 and I had my library knitting group to attend. It was a busy and most enjoyable day. This is what I came home with:
The colours are off. The two round balls of roving are actually a darkish grey and the other looks quite drab compared to the actual rovings.
The colour is truer in this photo. Can you read the label? It's from Ba-a-ad Ass Textiles. I'm going to spin it and knit myself a sweater.
