Dr Charles P Craven

This is the name of my former doctor. This is the fellow I referred to as Dr. Duck in my previous posts. As of today he has been downgraded from a quack to an incompetent moron. Thanks to this man's lack of knowledge and medical skill my grandson will suffer from deformational plagiocephaly for the rest of his life. Here's a website for the doc, if he even has any interest in increasing his medical knowledge now that he's retiring. https://www.aafp.org/afp/2003/0501/p1953.html
Also, I have heard a rumour that he has sold his practise to a doctor he once used as a locum. A locum he allegedly promised his patients he would never use again due to all the complaints. This is the same locum who relied heavily on his little handheld computer and then proceeded to write me a prescription for an off the shelf antihistamine. I wish my former doctor a speedy retirement. As for me, I would rather take pot luck at Port Alberni's new clinic than cross his threshold again.

What a disgusting post. Dr. Charles P. Craven has been an outstanding physician in the community for many years and has conducted himself and his practice with the utmost professionalism. To expect every doctor in the world to be 100% all of the time is foolish and unattainable. For you to then go on a smear campaign against this doctor publicly shows not only your incompetence, but also your inhumanity. Please stick with using pins and needles where you can only hurt yourself instead of using your misinformed opinion publicly which can hurt others. Enjoy your paper route genius!

I have never heard the term "locum" -- is the medical society in Canada at all sympathetic to investigating incompetent doctors? Be a whistle blower. Even if they do nothing, you should do it.

I had to look this up because I had no idea what deformational plagiocephaly was. Of course, that meant I read up on it in the process. I found this about the orthotoc devices: "Also, the researchers found no association between the use of orthotic devices and the severity of cranial flattening, calling into question the effectiveness of the use of such devices in the treatment of or prevention of DP." Of course, then I looked for studies about the effectiveness and found none. Since insurance will not cover this device and it will likely be far from comfortable for your grandson, I hope his parents get some real answers on the effectiveness of these helmets before putting in all that money, time and travel. The poor baby has gone through so much! God bless him.

Oh my God, I didn't realize it was so serious. Will DD1 take little one to Vancouver for therapy?

She asked him about it several times and the idiot kept telling her not to worry about it, it'll fix itself as he grows. It was another one of his locums who got the ball rolling. They've had one appointment in Vancouver and will be getting a helmet for him, although they've been told it may not work because he's too old. They'll be running back and forth to Vancouver and then Surrey for the next eight months. Medical considers this cosmetic and won't pay for it.

His name seems appropriate: craven - lacking even the rudiments of courage; abjectly fearful; "the craven fellow turned and ran"
