This Cleaning Thing Could Become a Habit.
We didn't quite get rid of everything. The guy who wanted my kitchenware got picky and left behind the Spanish coffee mugs my parents had brought back from Disneyland and had our names boldly plastered across the each mug in gold letters. He also neglected to take the plastic McDonald's mugs with the big red feet. I guess he didn't find them treasurable either. The chick who wanted the four ashtrays and two escargot bowls never showed up so I guess all the leftovers will be going to one of the many second hand stores in town. I also still have my old vacuum cleaner. The fellow who said he'd be out on Sunday to look at it never showed up and I have placed an ad in the local rag. Next up are three bikes. One small pink one with the tires removed. One well used dirt bike with flat tires and some rust and the ten speed that DH owned when I met him 35 years ago. Can you guess who the pack rat is in this family? Mind you, I do have fun teasing him about throwing away the back pack he toured around Europe with, for a year, after University. That was before I met him. It's garbage day tomorrow so today I get to root through the toy boxes in the garage an sort out the good, the bad and the ugly. I expect this to be Tuesday ritual for the next month or so. My kids had an overabundance of toys and I kept all of them for my daycare. I tried to pull a fast one and asked DD#1 and 2 if they would send their kids over to pick out what they'd like to keep but they picked up on my attempted trickery immediately. As Charlie Brown would say, "Rats!"
