Christmas Partay
Christmas Partay
Dh's annual office Christmas party was held in a nearby hotel this year. That's 'nearby' as in we could have walked home had we both over indulged in the bubbly.

The Barclay put on a very tasty buffet. All kinds of salads; broccoli, Caesar, pasta, Chinese noodle. There was mixed veg, mashed spuds, rolls, gravy, cranberry and a plump, juicy turkey. The dessert table was laden with squares, cakes and big slices of fresh fruit. Then, to top it off one of the staff was having a birthday soon and the office sprang for a lovely, gooey, chocolate cake. Wine carafes were placed strategically on tables and as we seemed to be surrounded by teetotalers I tried my best to empty the one filled with white wine but gave up after only four glasses. I sure can't drink like I used to. The gift exchange was next. One by one we got to pick a gift from under the Christmas tree or we could steal someone else's gift if we so desired. This year there were a lot of Christmas song singing things. The most popular being an elf hat with a big bell on the end that jerked and jiggled in time to the song it played when switched on. When it was my turn I prayed for something quiet and picked this from under the tree:

When switched on the snowfamily change colours from within. Thankfully it plays NO music. I might give the mug to the 12 Year Old but the candies will be thrown out. I unwrapped three and the foil on the inside of the wrapper stuck to the candies and is next to impossible to remove.
I hope whoever got the wine and gourmet chocolates we brought for the gift exchange enjoys them.
As usual, the DJ played the music WAY too loud and no one was dancing but I did get to chat with some interesting people. All in all, it was a nice evening out.
