Busy Summer

Today I'm washing a fleece for the first time. It's a beautiful Bluefaced Leicester fleece. I currently smell like a barnyard. Sorry, no photos. DH has taken some grandkids and DD#2 to a wildlife rescue centre and he took the camera with him. He also took my car and I've run out of dish detergent, a very necessary item when washing fleece. Oh well, I may be washing this fleece again next week.

My fleece looks just like this picture I found on the web. All those different colours are from the same sheep.

I've discovered there is a Crafter's Market in town. It's every Sunday from 9:00 - 2:00 and only costs $10.00 a day for a table. I'll be there selling my wares beginning June 5th. I hope I sell something. I expect to have lots of skeins of hand dyed wool as well as all my hand knit items.

I've made seven skiens of wool and will be dyeing it this coming week.

Next Sunday is the First Annual 100 Mile Fleece and Fibre Sale for the Gulf and Vancouver Islands. Kim and Mom and DH and I and DH's wallet will be in attendance.

Ah yes! This summer is shaping up to being a busy one for me.

Good luck with the market! I'm planning to offer my crafts at a holiday festival in December. It's going to take me all summer and fall to make enough!

Those colors make me think of the Navajo rugs woven with natural colors of wool. They are so pretty when made up.

I love markets. You should have fun selling things this way, especially when/if the weather improves. Is it held at the Quay?

I'm really looking forward to it. Yes, it is at Harbour Quay. The Farmer's Market is there on Saturdays and the Crafter's Market is there on Sundays. You should come visit this summer. You can have the guest room if the cat is OK with that. Seriously, come for a visit.

We only want pictures of EVERYTHING! It's the only way we will not envy all your wholesome fun.

You must take pix of your day at the market. Hope you sell a lot.
