Nursekim is the artist in the family. This is my birthday present from her.
Remember my little African Violet that I was so excited to see a blooming flower on? Well, Just look at it now.
The house across the street from us caught on fire today. I heard an explosion and then screaming. Apparently her barbecue, at the back if the house had exploded (probably the propane tank). I can now see there is a hole in the roof where the firemen were trying to get to the fire in the attic. I feel so bad for the family. Thankfully, no one was hurt. Even their cat escaped unscathed.
Looking out the back of my house I can see plumes of smoke from the 5 hectare Dog Mountain Fire nearby. People in it's path have been evacuated. I hope they get that under control quick. It's behind the antenna in the middle of the photo.

And you've had temps over 36 C! There was a bush fire a few blocks from me in a gucci neighbourhood yesterday. The RN I was working with was freaking because her house is right at the burn area. It's okay now.
