Great photos and I love the JP (he looks so 70s). Hope your day this year was almost as memorable.

You looked gorgeous. We had shrimp, little italian sausages, champagne, deviled eggs and punch and wedding cake.

I don't remember all the buffet, but there was one of my famous trifles, the Pender Island fish was caught by Percy Henderson, and the luscious cake was decorated by another neighbour Elsie Lindenbach whose husband fell down the short flight of steps, sober as a judge. Hopefully the big red bowl is punch and not jello.

I'll bet that's your scrumptious trifle in the crystal bowl but I'm willing to bet (and you know how I feel about gambling) that Betty brought tomato aspic in the big yellow bowl. She served that at every meal I ever ate at her house. Besides, with all entertaining she did, I'm sure she would have had a punch bowl.

Thank you. I was hoping for a little something with a bit of coral or jade that would fit on my finger but at least I got my flowers this year.

Happy Valentines Day and 35th anniversary! I remember that day well, too. Yours was the most beautiful dress I'd ever seen and you were stunning. I remember also the neighbour fell down the stairs...!

It's still hanging in my closet. Who fell down the stairs? Which neighbour? Are you sure that was my quiet, little wedding?
reply by nittineedles on Feb 15, 2011 12:00 AM ()
You could re-create that wedding buffet for your anniversary! Mine would be real easy - mixed nuts, pastel mints, white cake, and some crappy punch.

I'm not sure what the white stuff in the crystal bowl on the left is and I don't have a clue what that is behind the tomato aspic in the yellow bowl.
Counter clockwise that's shrimp behind the little vase of blue flowers, potato salad, deviled eggs, a butt ugly fish (Who brought that to my wedding?), tomato aspic and our beautiful and delicious wedding cake.
