It's R E D

OK, so it isn't a true red. It's more of a burgundy but it isn't what most of them are nowadays which is black, white, grey or taupe. I am devastated that the weather is too frosty to take it out for a spin and I won't use it in the snow. So there it sits...unused and useless to me. Just you wait, though. Tuesday is forecast to be a high of 6C/43F and only rain so I won't have to wait too long before I can drive my new 2013 Volkswagen Passat. Until then I shall move my chair over to the window so that I may gaze longingly at:

It's great looking. Try to wean it away from DH. Ed bought a great used car "for me" but he uses it all the time now (it's better, he says, for his back) and I am using the 2001 SUV. I don't tilt at him about it since it's more important that I now have wheels. He still says it's my car. He's in denial.

It's going to take some getting used to; steering wheel is smaller, break and gas are more sensitive, 60 kph feels like 50 kph, most of the switches and buttons are in a different place. Also, DH thinks it's HIS car. He's put his stuff (sunglasses, 222's, etc) on the driver's side of the car and my stuff on the passenger side.

You didn't warn us that you were car shopping, as if that was our business. This one's for you, right? I have lost track of your cars - did you have a blue one at one time, but then I thought you got something else. Well, anyway, you are going to look lovely driving that car.

Last week DH says we'll look for a new car for me in September. Of course, then he had to look on line to see what was available and decided the Passat was the safest car for the money. He found this one in Nanaimo. He took it for a test drive on Monday and we signed the papers on Thursday.

My previous car was a 2006 black Ford Fusion. We had just had the broken window switch and cracked windshield replaced.
