Xmas Par-tay

We went to DH's annual office Christmas party tonight. We both had a nice time but them we usually do. After dinner there was the gifting game. Everyone brings a gift and puts it under the Christmas tree. The first name drawn picks out one of the gifts. The second name drawn can either steal the first name's gift or pick one from under the tree, etc, etc. DH's name was drawn about halfway through and he chose a gift from under the tree.

*Tried to post a photo but it's not working so you'll have to make do with a description.*

He picked out a large gift bag and inside was a Christmas cushion for the chesterfield and a big round tree ornament with two cardinals(birds not religious beings) inside. He really liked it but didn't have it for long before someone else stole it. He chose another gift from under the tree and it was a very nice cutting board with a picture of some wine and cheese on it. If you flip it over it's a cutting board for meat, with a narrow trough around the edge of the board for catching the juices as you carve. He got to bring that home. My name was drawn second to last so I stole back the Christmas cushion and ornament for DH. We make a good team.

I would be put off if I picked something I really wanted and it was "stolen". It's nice that you were able to get it back, but that was just happenstance. Why not just let everyone keep what they chose, and the person drawn last gets what's left? That makes as much sense. Or you could have a consolation prize for the last name in the draw, that someone brings out from behind a counter somewhere. A mystery present. Oh boy.

The Marketing committee for 4C Camp for Adults was thinking about doing something for the holidays. This would have been great, but it's too late for this year!

You must keep your unwrapped gift on the table where it can be seen by all who may want to steal it. It's lots of fun.
