Visitors and Other People

I waited over two and a half months for these visitors and they were well worth the wait. Today I got to meet someone who is no longer an imaginaryfriend but a real live, flesh and blood person.

I also had the privilege of meeting her handsome spouse

and her two delightful (and very well mannered) children.

Thank you Jennifer for taking the time to stop for a visit on your way through town. I had a lovely visit with you and your beautiful family. I'm sorry you didn't get to meet Angel. She eventually came home around four o' clock. Also, thank you for the gift. We were going to try some tonight but I had to deliver my papers. Tomorrow for sure.

Now, on to the other people:
Today of all days our carpenter decides to come install our closet doors.

Stain job by little ol' me.

I was NOT impressed with the sawdust on my bed.
This is the same fellow who came to fix my floor. He spent 15 minutes trying to pound the board back into place then told me he had to go back to the flooring store to get some tape (for traction) and he never came back......until today. Frankly, I was afraid that if I told him he'd have to come another day I wouldn't see him for another few months.
The people who deliver my newspapers to me dump three, bundled stacks of 20 newspapers and 17 loose papers on my front porch every Thursday evening. They are getting pretty sloppy with the bundling though. Today the strapping slipped off one of the stacks of 20 and it was a bit windy so I had 37 newspapers slewed across my porch. If it happens again I will report them to the newspaper office.

What a nice family, and how thoughtful of them to take the time to stop by to meet you personally.

A very positive experience for me.

It's always a special thing to meet people you only know through the internet. I've met four and wish I could meet many more. Thanks for sharing your time with Jennifer and family.

The closet doors look great! It's nice to put a face to a blog-handle.

They look even better with the knobs on. I'll never forget their visit.

One of the things I miss about not spending as much time as I used to on RV sites is that people on blogs don't get to meet each other as RVers do! This is a neat story. As for the papers: I'd make a suggestion to the office that the papers need to be delivered with more care. Next time you may find yourself chasing 57 papers in the rain and wind.

I've met a couple of blog pals who came through this area on vacation. And if I were traveling, I'd make an effort to connect. (We are compulsive about caring for our animals so we don't go away for lengthy periods.)

If I have to pick up 57 soggy newspapers off my front lawn, they'll be paying me double.

The kids are adorable. Don't wait for the next time, say something now. You can express your concern. See if that works. You did a great job on the staining.

Next time it may be someone new. The last fellow always brought his obnoxious 10 year old? son with him. The kid reminded me of Eddie Haskell from Leave it to Beaver. Maybe he thought I was going to give him a tip.
