I guess I'm faster than I thought or maybe it's because The Four Year Old quietly watched TV for most of the time he was here and left me alone. Anyway, my sweater is finished! It looks great except for one little thing. It's waaay too short on me. I'm long in the torso and the sweater only comes to the middle of my hip. Just what an overweight woman needs; to look wider in the hip. I'll be ordering some more yarn from Elann and will knit another border around the bottom of the sweater. That will add at least four inches to the length. The rest of the sweater is a perfect fit and I love the way the 80% wool/20% alpaca yarn feels. Have I mentioned I'm a yarn snob? I adore the natural fibres.
The sweater looks grey in the photo (too much flash) but this is the yarn I used.

Simply put....you're an artiste!
Dang, you're good!
another master piece Marg!
That's a nice blue-green yarn, but you're right, the picture looks gray.
Beautiful sweater! You are so talented! I used to knit, but haven't even gotten around to the grocery carrying bag yet...
Just lovely. My mother had a gadget that makes it easier to figure where to place buttons evenly, sort of an accordion mechanism. It was in Las Vegas but now Mr. Tbend has mailed it to me, so I'm pretending that when it gets here no more excuses, I'll have to finish my sweater.
Love your sweater. It should just fit me. Hint!!! Tv is a good baby sitter. That is good and bad. It helps them pass their time, but limits the time they could learn and spend with grandparents. I always read to my children and did some with my older grandchildren. Spent time yesterday bonding with my newest baby - 5 days - old. He is a darling, but slept the whole time. The little darling was passed from one person to another and never woke up. Know parents didn't get any sleep last night.
