I’ve just hung up the phone after an interesting con-versation with a con….er…I mean car salesman for Toyota. Months ago, DH had gone in to find out how much we could expect to get for our 1987 Camry and he foolishly gave them his name. Today’s call was allegedly a follow up on my husband’s enquiries “regarding the purchase of a new Toyotaâ€. I told Mr Con Salesman that we were no longer interested in a new car as we have already purchased one. He asked which one and I told him a Ford Fusion. I also, twit that I am, told him that due to their numerous recalls I had no interest in purchasing a Toyota. He then launched into lie/damage con-trol mode. I didn’t bother to argue with him and when he eventually paused to take a breath, I pointed out that he was wasting his and my time as I had already told him we had a new car. Before he could start in again I bid him a firm farewell and hung up. He was just one more reason I am glad we didn’t get another Toyota.
