DH is in for such a treat. My mom has moved to Sidney and we will be going to visit her soon. DH has reserved a room at a nearby B&B. After he went to bed last night I googled some reviews for the accommodations and was dismayed to find it is listed as #8 out of the 8 B&Bs registered online. There are multiple comments about the "peculiar/musty smell" in the house, the limited, minuscule breakfast and dirty floors. Numerous complaints with regard to the owner's verbal diarrhea and the fact that the house is under the flight path for the airport, therefore, lack of restful sleep. Also no outlets for recharging electronics, showers and toilets are in what used to be the closets so there is nowhere to hang clothing. One woman was berated for not finishing her breakfast. They claim to have been in business for 25 years and it would appear they haven't replaced anything, bedding included, in all that time. There are no locks on the room doors. The "shared" livingroom has the only TV which the owner turns off at 9:00 PM when he goes to bed even though guests are in the room watching TV. We must arrive by 9:00 PM as that is when the owner retires for the night. Breakfast is at 8:00 AM sharp and guests are kicked out at 9:30 AM. With much difficulty, I'm not going to say a word of this to DH. I can only hope he learns his lesson this time and checks out the reviews before he checks us into our next B&B.
