Granddaughter's Sweater

My three year old granddaughter requested a hand knit sweater from me. "Purple with pockets and flowers.....pink and yellow flowers."

Her wish is my command. Unfortunately, I can't find six matching purple (or pink, or yellow) buttons in this one horse town.

You would love the store Dressew in Vancouver. It has an incredible array of buttons and at affordable prices too.
Very cute sweater.

Of course, there is nothing as imperious as a three year old girl when it
comes to her requests. I would have melted too but I would have had to
scour the stores and not come up with anything as perfect.

You could put snaps behind them :) Whatever you do I am sure it will be lovely! Maybe she could make them from Polymer clay on your next play date....... Easy to bake in a toaster oven.....

Thanks but I think smooth, plastic buttons would be much easier for her little, 3 year old fingers to manage.

Beautiful work! I'll bet your button bands never dream of rippling and I love how the pockets work as flower pots. I had to set my mohair sweater aside because the second button band just won't come out right, and I wasn't crazy about the collar, either. Will try again in a couple of weeks.

I knit the button band at the same time as I knit the fronts. No sewing or rippling later. Of course, with some patterns you just can't do that.

We grandma's will do whatevery those little darlings request, won't we? Absolutely precious, by the way. Granddaughter has good taste.
