Another One of Those Days

I've been dreading today, all week. I had a dental appointment, this morning, to replace a 30+ year old filling. I had checked the calendar yesterday and noted that my appointment was for 10:45. The dentist's receptionist even phoned to remind me but apparently I wasn't listening very well when she said the time. I showed up at the dental office, what I thought was five minutes early, to be told I was 40 minutes late. I told them I didn't know how that could be as my calendar clearly shows 10:45 not 10:00. After making a new appointment for November 3rd I came home to double check my calendar and found the appointment I had exactly two weeks ago was at 10:45. Today's was for 10:00. Oh FUDGE! Now I have to wait another week. Oh well, looking on the bright side, my mouth feels good today. I wonder what time I'm supposed to show up?

Thank goodness my daughter is a dental hygienist! She takes good care of me--and the price is right!

I don't mind the 'going' to the dentist - just the blinking 'injection' in the gob, I can't stand - terrifies me - any other place - 'fine', but my mouth, oh hate it!

I don't care for the injection either but that's over with pretty quick. I can't stand the hours of numbness and tingling waiting for the freezing to wear off.

I am with you on dreading dentists and doctors.

I'm sure we're not alone.

I suppose being typically British, the dentist terrifies me-shake just thinking about the mouth butcher!!
We are all allowed to make mistakes like that once in a while, just wish that it was only once in a while where I am concerned.
I had an appt recently to go and donate blood, had been aware that it was coning for weeks, got to the day, COMPLETELY forgot about it until 5 mins before they closed....at least I got there in the end.
To use a well coined phrase here in Cornwall, I got there 'drekly'.

Too bad the dentist isn't 'no appointment necessary', then I'd always be on time.

I dread going to the dentist as well.... HATE IT! They always pole and prod and hurt me. I suppose that's why most people don't like the dentist.

The sound of the drill brings me to tears. It's very embarrassing.

It'd be handy if they would make all your times the same as it would be easier for you to remember, and I'll bet really skillful appointment setters know this and try to keep the same time for a given patient.

She tried to get me in on Friday but I'm busy then. She tried to get me in on Monday but I'm busy then too. When she suggested Wednesday I almost told her, "I want 10:45." She actually gave me 11:00. Probably in the hope that if I played this scene over again at least I'd be 15 minutes early.

I have an appointment for a cleaning but the dentist won't be there, just the hygienist so if I develop a problem before the date, I'd have to go back. Maybe I'll just change the appointment. As for getting things right, that's always a pain in the butt.

Once this is over with I won't have to go back for six whole months.

I still haven't made my dental appointment, it is still on my things to do list, tomorrow for sure. This afternoon the T.V. man came and fixed the T.V. for me, so things do get done

I still have to make an appointment for my feet. Glad your TV's fixed.
