OK, so I'm sitting downstairs, minding my business when I hear this siren. We only live a few blocks from the ambulance station and a busy intersection that the fire trucks often travel through so I didn't think anything of it until it got very loud and suddenly stopped and I realized it was real close. I hot footed it upstairs and looking out the window I see this. Oh My Gosh! There's a guy lying on the sidewalk/road with ambulance personnel standing around him. He's not moving. The ambulance attendants aren't trying to help him. Is he dead? I don't see any blood. I didn't hear a shot. Then I hear the nosy, noisy neighbour's voice and one of the ambulance attendants say, "No. We're just gonna give him a ride to the drunk tank." Then they commence to stand around, filling out forms, joking and laughing with each other until a Mountie rides up on his white horse. Canada's finest tells the passed out drunk to get up and gives him a poke with the toe of his boot. They had quite a difficult time flipping the drunk over and handcuffing him. And an even more difficult time hauling him to his feet. At last, success! It was another ten minutes or so before they managed to stuff him in the Mountie vehicle. And so ends another exciting day in the bustling city of Port Alberni.

It would've only taken one of us mybloggers bloggers to sit him up and make him drink a cup of coffee.
The police in Las Vegas did training exercises on our street for awhile, and I was amazed at how they drew things out and took forever to do anything. Of course that was training, but it looked like training in how to stand around and chat.
Wasn't John Barleycorn originally a Canadian??
Why'd they arrest him? Is it illegal to be passed out drunk in Canada?
You have to wonder?
OK, ok, I must admit, when you said "mountie" I was seriously waiting to see someone on a horse. Don't ask why, I don't even know myself. Just one of those things.
Turn him loose in Saskatchewan.
Lock him up! Let him dry out before they turn him loose!
