Busy Week

I haven't had a chance to do any painting on my new wheel yet.

Treadles

I traced three of these on each side of the wheel.

Monday I went up to the hospital to get my hip x-rayed. It didn't take as long as I'd expected but I did manage to get a lot of knitting done in the waiting room.

Tuesday morning I knit my fingers to the bone and finished the main part of the Christening gown's skirt.
Tuesday afternoon I picked up my 3 year old granddaughter from daycare and she entertained me for a few hours. When she first laid eyes on me she bellowed, "GRAMMA!" The next thing she said was, "You made my sweater." I said, Yes, I did." and she countered with, "My sweater's too small." I asked if she would like me to knit her a new one and she said, "Yes, please." I asked what colour she would like and she said, "Purple with pockets and flowers, pink and yellow flowers." We played with my dollies. Then we had cherry flavoured tea and little crackers with raspberry jam. She made me a Lego decoration for my table and then I took her back to daycare. She's quite the chatterbox.

Oh how I wish I could show her to you. She's beautiful!
Tuesday evening I attended the monthly West Coast Weavers and Spinners Guild meeting.

Wednesday (today) I made it to my knitting cirle. It was a small group, only about eight people but the conversation was interesting. Later this afternoon I answered a knock at the door and found two of my grandsons had come to visit. They are my granddaughter's brothers. The oldest is 14 and the younger one is almost 10. I was shocked to discover the 14 year old is as tall as DH (approx 5' 11"). They too are exceptionally good looking and I'm not just saying that because they're my grandchildren. We had a great visit before they had to peddle off home for dinner.

Thursday (tomorrow) I'm off to the Thursday Spinners in Errington. As I have changed my old wheel over to strictly plying and my new wheel hasn't yet been painted or assembled I will knit. After all, I have a purple sweater with pockets and pink and yellow flowers to finish.

Friday I would like to think is my day of rest but no. It's laundry and house cleaning day. If I don't do some vacuuming and dusting soon I'll need to hire a mini backhoe to shovel the dust out of my house.

This weekend is supposed to be sunny and warm. Maybe I can find something to do outside.

I think 8 people is a good size group!
Your spinning wheel is going to look amazing when you are done.

The apple falls not far from the tree (good looks), unless the tree is on a hill!

There is nothing as enchanting as a three year old girl who talks a lot and
treats you to her feminine wiles! I am ashamed but I am partial to my
4 grandaughters.

I love the design you have chosen for your wheel! It looks like my Henna Body Art :) I must admit a little jealousy over the grand babies. I don't have any.... yet. I souds like a perfectly wonderful day :)

I completely understand! Splurge on a nice Sable brush or 2 and give it a go on a good day. You can do it!!!

I would like to ask my artistic sister, Kim, to paint it for me but then it wouldn't be "mine".
