And So it Begins

Bad news first:
The first Craft Market day of the season was awful! DH and I managed to erect my booth before the pitter patter if tiny rain drops began on the new roof we had purchased. It rained lightly in fits and starts for the rest of the morning. It wasn't until early afternoon that the torrential downpour started. Two vendors moved their booths back about 10 feet, under the shelter of a permanent roof over a walkway. Well out of line of potential customers strolling by. Several vendors left early due to the wind and rain. My space developed a river running through it and I didn't know I was sitting in it until I realized my shoes, socks and feet were wet. By the end of the day I had two garbage bags full of sopping wet stock. As soon as we got home I was throwing my wears over the furniture to dry.

Now for the good news:
The seasonal fee of $120.00 stayed the same as last year. My sales surpassed that amount so everything I make for the rest of the season (May 4 - September 28) is pure profit. I don't want to sound like I'm bragging. It's just that this has NEVER happened in the four years I've been participating in this craft market. I am so excited to see how the rest of the season pans out.

Not sure what category this fits into:
A gentleman asked if I knit slippers with thick wool. I told him I did. He asked how much and I told him $25.00. He said great. I asked what colours and he told me black and blue. I asked what size shoe he wears and he says 15...yes, FIFTEEN!!!!! I upped the price to $30.00 and he was fine with that but I don't think I'll be making any profit on his slippers. Maybe I should have charged him $25.00 per slipper.lol
