Bah Humbug!

The Nanaimo Bars base is cooling in the fridge. There are still two layers to do.
There is still snow on the ground so I can't/won't be driving to Safeway for the groceries we need. I'll have to ask DH to pick up bread and cheese on his way home. He'll end up working late and forget and will have to go out for those items, after he changes clothes of course and we'll end up eating dinner around 8:00.
Nose is running like sieve and I think we're almost out of tissues.
I taught myself entrelac knitting but the thing I made looks like crap. There goes $15.00 of yarn down the drain. Yes, I know I can pull it all out and reuse the yarn for something else but I am so sick of it; I just want to hide it in the back of a closet.
Last night, after setting up the tree, I took one small step back onto Angel's tail or leg. She's OK but hasn't forgiven me yet.
I have lost one sleeve of the latest Christening gown I designed. I can't believe I'm that disorganized. I may have to knit another sleeve.
I hate being sick!

I have been able to stop colds from developing by gargling with antibacterial mouthwash at the start. It works for me and may help you get over yours. I don't know what entrelac knitting is. Doomed to ignorance here.

I made a couple of entrelac projects a few years ago, and it must have been beginners luck, or I was just in the mood, because I was going to make a scarf the other day, and just couldn't get it going. I think I caught your cold, must be another definition of computer virus. Hah!

We canceled our travels today also because of snow. Monday will be a better day and the destinations will still be where they are now. Merry Christmas!

PS I saw a friend in Vancouver and he told me he'd made us some Nanaimo Bars for Christmas - BUT he left them at home in the fridge. When we lived in Vanc. he gave us Nanaimo Bars every Christmas but we haven't received any since we moved.

I can relate. I'm just at the end of week 2 of a horrible cold - sore throat, running nose, cough, etc. It sure drains your energy and limits the fun of all the Christmas preparations. I was in Vancouver last Wednesday during the snow storm and since I had the car, a ferry reservation and no other option, I had to drive on the slippery roads. It was my first time out driving in snow in decades. Can you say "stressful"? Then when I reached the ferry the wind was howling and I was worried the boats wouldn't be running. I finally got home at almost 11 p.m.

Today I plan to finish my wrapping, do my baking (better late than never) and get set for the trip to Nanaimo tomorrow. Hope your cold improves by Christmas and that we'll see you on Boxing Day.

Hope you feel better soon! We all think of hiding in the closet once in awhile.
