My Wrap Coat Hat

is finished! At least the knitting part is done. I still have to felt it which involves tossing it in the washing machine with HOT water and an old pair of jeans and agitating it until it mats and shrinks. The tricky part is to not let it shrink so much that it's too small for my head. Once it's matted and shrunk you can't stretch it back out.

I love felted stuff, esp the kind that you can't tell it was knitted. I tried a felted hat, and it didn't turn out like I had hoped, but garbage in - garbage out. For one thing, I think I'm afraid to let it wash too long, and didn't know about the blue jeans.
