Slug Socks

When I bought this ball of yarn it looked quite nice with black, green and brown stripes. How it looks after it's knit up is entirely different. Now they remind me of the big, fat, slimy, blotchy, green slugs we get around here. I hate walking trails as they can look like an innocent bit of leaf or other vegetation and if you don't have your eyes glued to the path one foot in front of your feet, you're likely to step on one. *shudder* I hate slugs! All slugs, so you can just imagine how I feel about these socks. If they don't sell by next Christmas DH can have them but he'll have to keep his slippers on.

The socks are actually quite attractive. No slugs in my vicinity. Good you aren't labeling them slug socks. Marketing sense there.

I'm with you, M - the only slugs I like are the ones I take from a rum and eggnogg.

I don't see the resemblance.

Oh my word, now that I see the picture of the slug, I really see what you mean.

I like both - the slugs and the socks! I played with them a lot when I was on the island (the slugs I mean - they are much cuter than the tiny blob slugs we have here).

They have an animal print feel about them to me, so I like them. But sadly, wool, even cashmere, makes me itch. Darnitallanyway. But you are right. I just looked up a photo of a Florida slug, and yessiree, their print and those socks are very similar. Let's hope they sell!

I didn't call them Slug Socks in my Etsy store.

They ARE very pretty, the ripply design reminds me of an animal print, some furry animal, not slimy. And of course, the knitting is beautiful. We don't have big slugs down here, but I have seen the ones up in your area, and know what you mean.

I know it's just me but I can't get past the slug appearance.
