New Roof
Late yesterday I was surprised by a call from our roofer. We had arranged for him to give us a new roof late last summer but he had a lot of jobs ahead of us and then the rainy season came early. I had completely forgotten about the roof as there haven't been any leaks inside yet. The only leak we had last year was over the eaves. Anyway, he popped over with some sample tiles and suggested a dark gray one. I pointed out the lighter pea soup coloured tile and told him I liked that one. The guy had the nerve to say, "I don't." Hey buddy, it's MY house and MY roof and I want the pea soup coloured tile! Twat! They're up there right now pounding away in time to my headache or maybe it's my headache that's pounding away in time to their hammering. My cielings are getting all the dust knocked out of them. I know because I can taste it and my allergies are getting worse as I sit here. I can't wait 'til they're done. I don't remember what this is going to cost us. This house is becoming a money pit. Also, I'm so disappointed it's still too cold outside for the roofers to take off their shirts. I could have gone to sit in the park across the street and pretend to knit. Phooey. :o(
